The Mind-Body Approach

I combine cutting-edge pain science education with the transformative tools of somatic practices to help you understand your symptoms and create meaningful change. This approach is inspired by the groundbreaking work of leaders in trauma healing, pain science, and nervous system regulation, including Dr. Peter Levine, Stephen Porges, Alan Gordon, Dr. John Sarno, and Dr. Adriaan Louw. Their insights inform the way I guide you toward a deeper understanding of your pain and help your body rediscover its capacity for healing and resilience.

Pain Science Education

Pain is not just a physical sensation—it’s a complex experience shaped by how the brain and nervous system process messages from the body. Pain is a messenger. Through pain science education, I’ll help you:

  • Understand the purpose of pain and why pain persists, even when tests show “nothing wrong.”

  • Learn how stress, emotions, and past experiences can amplify symptoms.

  • Discover how to shift the cycle of pain/ chronic symptoms and regain control of your body.

This education empowers you to view your symptoms differently, giving you tools to break free from their hold and take meaningful steps toward relief.

Somatic Practices

Somatic practices are a gentle, body-based approach that helps your nervous system release stored stress and tension and rebuild nervous system regulation. This process focuses on:

  • Reconnecting the body and mind to build resilience and restore balance.

  • Helping the nervous system shift out of chronic stress patterns and into states of safety and healing.

  • Gently unwinding the patterns of pain, rather than focusing on managing symptoms.

By working with your body’s natural ability to heal, somatic practices create profound shifts that go beyond symptom management—they support lasting transformation.

There is more Wisdom in your Body than in your deepest Philosophy.
